Key West, is an island city, part of the Florida Keys archipelago. Key West is the Southernmost Point of the United States to vacation where Artists, Authors, Pirates, Poets, and Presidents have lived with great weather. This subtropical paradises highest recorded temperature ever recorded is 97°, lowest temperature is 41° and it is the driest city in Florida. It is the only city in the US that has never had frost. It is famed for its Bars, Beaches, Coral Reef, Fishing, Treasure Hunters, and Sunsets, or just to play in the water. Keeping in mind, Key West is located closer to Cuba than to Miami!
A Paradise Close to Perfect, Far from Normal.
I always wore two masks while in Key West, this was during the 2021 Covid-19 pandemic. I would step off a sidewalk when encountering groups without masks.
My original plan was to also take a day cruise (70 miles in the open ocean) to the isolated Dry Tortugas National Park and the 16 acre Fort Jefferson. I waited too long to make reservations, the reason for extending my time in Key West. These cruises were canceled during my extended stay because of small craft warnings in the Gulf of Mexico.
